The lavish wedding of Pippa Middleton, sister of the Duchess of Cambridge, is underway.
BRITISH high society mixed with TV and media stars, as well as London’s money set as 150 family and friends saw royal bridesmaid Pippa Middleton wed financier James Matthews.
The second, third, fourth and fifth in line to the British throne topped the guest list, with princes William, Harry and George and his little sister, Princess Charlotte all in attendance, along with Pippa’s sister and matron of honour, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge.
Other royal guests include Princess Eugenie, the youngest daughter of Prince Andrew the Duke of York and his former wife Sarah, the Duchess of York. She wore a rather daring navy dress with a low cleavage and a white sailor’s hat.
Eugenie was on the arm of her long-time boyfriend Jack Brooksbank.
Swiss tennis ace, Roger Federer, an old friend of Pippa’s and the Middleton family, attended with his wife Mirka.
Mirka wore a beautiful peach-coloured dress, jacket and matching heels and the pair arrived at the church at 11am. Their two sets of twins, aged 7 and 3, did not attend.
The 35-year-old this week announced he would skip the upcoming French open, to allow him to focus on the Wimbledon tournament in July, which he has won seven times.
British broadcaster and journalist Ben Fogle and his wife Marina, who are friends of the Middletons’ and attended Catherine and William’s wedding at Westminster Abbey in 2011, were also reportedly there.
Groom James Matthews’ younger brother Spencer Matthews, the party-boy reality TV star, was his brother’s best man at the ceremony, and was due to deliver the traditional speech last night after promising to keep it appropriate, and to stay off social media during the day.
British media personality Donna Air, who is dating Pippa and Catherine’s brother James Middleton, arrived at the church at 10.55am, wearing a stunning mid-length cream dress and hat.
The black sheep of the Middleton family, Pippa’s uncle Gary Goldsmith, wearing a garish checked waistcoat, arrived at 11am with his daughter Tallulah.
Gary, the younger brother of Pippa’s mother Carole, has been kept at arms-length by the Middletons since 2009 when he was caught cutting cocaine and boasting about his royal connections at his crudely named Maison de Bang Bang villa in Ibiza.
Other guests included Sarah Hood, the executive fashion editor of British Vogue, and ITN president Tom Bradbury and his wife Claudia.
Prince George and Princess Charlotte led a pack of eight pageboys and bridesmaids. Prince George was joined by little colleagues Casimir Tatos, Edward Sebire and William Ward, while Princess Charlotte carried floral arrangements alongside Countess Philippa Hoyos, Lily French and Avia Horner.
Little Avia is the daughter of Lady Emily Compton, the former social editor of society bible Tatler, and Edward Horner, a city financier friend of James Matthews.
