MODEL Lara Worthington was shut down on live on air after she claimed she and her movie star husband Sam Worthington were “not rich” during a radio segment this morning.

The 29-year-old’s comment came after Kyle Sandilands asked her to guess the secret sound on his KIIS FM show. The correct guess leaves the winner with $50,000 in prize money.

“You’ll win 50 grand,” Jackie O said during the on-air chat.

But Sandilands interrupted: “We can’t give it to her she’s a celebrity! Celebrities are not allowed to win.”

“We’re not rich,” Lara said before Sandilands called “bull sh*t.”

“I don’t think that’s true,” he responded.

“We’re not rich, we’ve just got the biggest movie franchise in the world and our own make-up company,” Sandilands added.

Lara’s husband Sam Worthington was the star of 2009’s Avatar, which remains the highest-grossing film of all time with box office takings of $US 2.7 billion. He has signed on for future sequels in the franchise, and has starred in box office hits including Clash of the Titans and Hacksaw Ridge. In 2014 he made the BRW Young Rich List with an estimated fortune of $22 million.

Lara herself has a personal fortune estimated to be in the millions, thanks to her lucrative modelling gigs and sponsorship and endorsement deals.

Lara told Sandilands to “shut up” after the teasing, then wrongly guessed the secret sound. The blonde wasn’t shy to give the radio shock jock some advice afterwards.

“I think you talk too much — I think there should be more music,” she said.

Lara also opened up about her baby name choice after she welcomed her second son Racer.

The mother-of-two, who’s unusual names choices have made headlines, said she doesn’t wear high heels anymore since becoming a mum.

“I don’t know, I just love Racer, I just thought it was a really cool name and Sam liked it too,” she said.

“There was loads of names. I loved the name Jet but I couldn’t really have a Rocket and a Jet.

“We didn’t know it was going to be a boy. Well the first time we didn’t (find out) and the second time… there’s not many surprises so I thought let’s just keep it a secret.

“They’re both happy and healthy babies — they’re really good boys.”

Six-month-old Racer is the second child for Lara and Sam, who had their first child, Rocket Zot, in March 2015.
