From a marketing perspective, this makes sense: Millennials seem to resonate with the color, whether it manifests more as a dusty rose tone or a punchier bubble-gum shade. And what brand doesn’t want to appeal to millennials these days?
Gigi Hadid, queen of millennial models herself, proved that the color is still ever-so-relevant by showing up in monochromatic pink to the launch of her Gigi Hadid for Vogue Eyewear collection at Industria Studios in New York City on Tuesday. The outfit featured a cropped biker jacket and flared pants in the same light-reflecting material, which Hadid wore with Aquazzura heels and a light pink cami. The overall effect was like a Barbie come to life, which felt especially fitting since the model just had a Barbie made in her likeness by toy manufacturer Mattel earlier this year.
Hadid can thank her new stylist Mimi Cuttrell for the bold look, which marks a bit of a departure from the Cali-girl flavor of the outfits created with former stylist Monica Rose. With both Hadid and Kaia Gerber now on Cuttrell’s roster — and outfits this standout to her credit — we wouldn’t be surprised if Cuttrell becomes a household name sooner rather than later.
